Our Story

Indigenous Trade is our RIGHT

The word "Ottawa" means "to trade" and "Zibi" means "river" in the Algonquin Anishinabeg language. Ottawa with the Ottawa river flowing through the area is an ancient Indigenous trading hub and unceded Algonquin territory. Unceded, meaning the land was never surrendered to the Crown or otherwise had treaty agreements written so the Indigenous could be compensated adequately. We choose to trade on our unceded territory and operate tax-free as a statement of our Indigenous Sovereignty. Visit us today at either of our two stores, in Northern Ottawa at 275 Montreal Road and in Southern Ottawa at 2019 Bank Street (Unit #104).
